Legislative Chamber discusses implementation of legal experiment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session of the working commission on holding legal experiment on testing the draft law “On openness of activities of the state bodies and management” in Bukhara and Samarkand regions.

Members of the working commission, working groups in Bukhara and Samarkand regions, officials of the ministries and civil society bodies, as well as mass media participated at the session, UzA reported.

The draft law “On openness of activities of the state bodies and management” is developed to ensure openness of the activities of the state bodies. Currently, the draft law is tested in Bukhara and Samarkand regions of Uzbekistan.

These two regions started to implement requirements of the draft law. The experiment is directed at testing clauses of the draft law, which will help to develop mechanisms of its implementation and raise responsibilities of the officials.

The session considered actual issues of carrying out legal experiment, proposals on their correcting and raising efficiency of the implemented measures, and determined priority tasks for future.

The document is determines norms of informing public about activities of the state bodies and their decisions, first of all, those related to rights and interests of the citizens.

The representatives of the regions provided information on activities carried out within the implementation of the draft law.

It was said that NGOs and citizens are participating in the activities of the state bodies. Number of publications at local media on activities of the state bodies increased.

The regions actively started to use their internet-resources to inform public about their activities. The activities of the website also improved.

The session underlined that the state bodies should improve their activities in providing information to information-library and archive funds, activities of the websites of the state bodies and processing of requests of the users for information, etc.
