Legislative Chamber discusses draft law “On appeals of individuals and legal entities”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan hosted a session dedicated to discussion of a draft law “On appeals of individuals and legal entities” and a draft law “On introduction of changes to article 144 of Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and article 43 of the Code of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility”.

The session was organized by the Committee of Legislative Chamber on democratic institutes, NGOs and self-governing bodies of citizens. MPs, Human Rights Commissionaire, representatives of ministries and departments attended the session.

UzA reported that Uzbekistan developed the draft law “On appeals of individuals and legal entities” and the draft law “On introduction of changes to article 144 of Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and article 43 of the Code of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility”.

The draft laws were developed based on study of international and national experience, and takes into account modern developments. In particular, the laws set that individuals and legal entities can submit their appeals in electronic form.

The documents also set norms on increasing responsibility of the state bodies and their officials in consideration of appeals of the legal entities and individuals.

The draft laws were widely discussed among the public. About 30 articles on the laws were published in media and over 100 TV and radio programmes were broadcasted.

At the event, the participants shared their proposals on further improving these draft laws.
