Leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Agree on Steps to Expand Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.

The leaders discussed the progress of implementing agreements reached at the highest level, with particular focus on measures to increase bilateral trade and accelerate the implementation of key cooperative projects in industry, transport, energy, and infrastructure.

They emphasized the importance of further developing active interregional contacts and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

The presidents also exchanged views on pressing regional issues and confirmed their commitment to deepening partnership in the spirit of good-neighborliness and mutual support.
