Leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Discuss Implementation of High-Level Agreements

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 December, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during which he warmly congratulated his counterpart on his birthday.

President Mirziyoyev highlighted the outstanding role of the Azerbaijani leader in strengthening the country’s independence, promoting national unity, ensuring sustainable development, and enhancing its international standing.

The leaders discussed current issues concerning the further deepening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani cooperation, the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, and the strengthening of strategic partnership.

They noted the successful outcomes of joint work in the current Year of Economic Cooperation, the active growth of bilateral trade, and progress on projects across 20 priority areas outlined in the “road map.”

Additionally, the leaders addressed cultural and humanitarian exchanges, the dynamic development of contacts at all levels, exchanged views on international affairs, and agreed on the schedule of upcoming joint events.
