Leader of “Milliy Tiklanish” Urges Uzbeks to Leave Russia Amid Reports of Migrant’s Death

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and leader of the Milliy Tiklanish party, Alisher Kadyrov, has issued a high-profile statement following reports of the death of an Uzbek citizen in Russia, allegedly after an anti-migrant raid involving OMON riot police.

The politician urged his compatriots to leave the Russian Federation as soon as possible, stating that conditions for labor migrants are only expected to deteriorate.

According to him, the situation of migrants from Central Asian countries in Russia has been becoming increasingly alarming with each passing month.

Kadyrov expressed the view that Russian law enforcement agencies are increasingly treating migrants as a potential source of internal risks and possible unrest. As a result, he argued, the authorities appear prepared to forgo the migrants’ so-called “economic utility.”

The lawmaker emphasized that the developments should not be ignored and called on citizens of Uzbekistan to soberly assess the potential threats.

“Use common sense—leave Russia as soon as possible. No amount of earnings is worth the tears of your parents and children,” Kadyrov said.
