Law on Social Insurance Resubmitted to the Senate After Revision Based on Parliamentary Proposals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate Committee on Science, Education and Healthcare discussed the draft Law “On State Social Insurance.”
The meeting was attended by senators, members of standing committees of local Councils of People’s Deputies, representatives of ministries and agencies, as well as journalists.
Earlier, at the 10th plenary session of the Senate, the draft law had been rejected following a number of proposals made by senators. Subsequently, a conciliation commission was established in the Legislative Chamber, which revised the document taking into account the comments expressed and resubmitted it to the Senate for further consideration.
The law defines the foundations of the state social insurance system, including mandatory and voluntary insurance, outlines the participants — insurers, policyholders, and insured persons, and specifies the types of insured events.
It clarifies the rights and obligations of the parties, sources of funding, mechanisms for assigning and paying insurance benefits, as well as procedures for submitting documents, suspending, resuming, and terminating payments.
Senators emphasized that the law is aimed at regulating relations in the field of state social insurance.
Following the discussion, the Committee recommended that the draft law be submitted for consideration at the next plenary session of the upper chamber of Parliament.
