Latest trends in textile industry discussed in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International Textile Conference of Uzbekistan “Uzbekistan Textile Conference” was held on 4 September 2018 devoted to the latest trends of the industry, development of international textile technologies, certification and digital marketing, scientific research in the development of “smart” textiles.
The organizer of the event was the Association of Textile and Sewing and Knitting Industries of Uzbekistan “Uztekstilprom”.
The international textile conference "Uzbekistan Textile Conference" is organized under the auspices of the International Conference of Textile Manufacturers (ITMF), which is held within the framework of the International Exhibition "Uztextile Expo 2018" and is dedicated to the development of the textile industry.
About 250 delegates from 18 countries of the world, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Economy, Foreign Trade, State Customs Committee, enterprises of the industry took part in the conference.
In the opening ceremony of the conference, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nodir Otajonov delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the Government.
Otjononov said in his speech: “The choice of the topic of this event is by no means accidental. This is due primarily to the fact that the priority of the accelerated development of the textile industry since the first days of independence of Uzbekistan was the most important engine in the development of the economy of our state.”
Plenary session was opened by the Chairman of the Association "Uztekstilprom" Ilkhom Khaidarov. In his presentation “The Strategy for Development of the Textile Industry in Uzbekistan”, he noted that comprehensive measures are being implemented in the republic, aimed at creating a wide range of high-quality textile and sewing-knitted products, deepening the localization of its production, and increasing the export potential of local producers. Over the past period, the necessary legal framework and favorable conditions for development of the textile and apparel and knitwear industry have been formed.
Uzbekistan improves the system of standardization and certification in the field of the textile industry in order to ensure accelerated development of the textile industry and expand production of high-quality and competitive finished products.
Uzbekistan plans to create 13 textile clusters. The clusters can independently conclude direct contracts of contracting for the cultivation and supply of raw cotton with farms.
The international textile conference "Uzbekistan Textile Conference" brought together the leading participants of the world textile market to discuss prospects and conclude mutually beneficial contracts. Representatives of textile business from Germany, Switzerland, South Korea, China, Russia, India, Japan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the USA, France, Russia and Egypt took part in it this year.
During the forum, the participants discussed development trends of textile clusters, projects for implementation of environmental cotton, issues of certification of textile products for the European market, expansion of the range of textile products, increase in export volume, current state and prospects of the world textile industry, the legal regulation of relations in the field of electronic commerce, technology in the textile and clothing industry, trends in the fashion industry.
The Bangladeshi model for the growth of the textile industry of Uzbekistan was also considered.
Participants of the event, along with a discussion of the current state and prospects of the global cotton fiber market, familiarized themselves with the conditions created to attract foreign investments to the textile industry of Uzbekistan.
Foreign participants of the conference expressed great interest and readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan. This was facilitated by the meetings held in the B2B and B2C format, which will discuss new projects for the development of the textile industry.
