“Kyzylkum” Terminates Contract with Dilshod Komilov Following Refusal to Be Substituted

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Football club “Kyzylkum” announced the termination of defender Dilshod Komilov’s contract after he refused to leave the field during the 21st-round Super League match against “Kokand-1912.”

The incident occurred in the 57th minute when head coach Akmal Rustamov decided to substitute Komilov with forward Bobomurod Bozorov.

Komilov categorically refused to leave the pitch, despite repeated requests from his teammates.

Three minutes later, the coach attempted the substitution again, but the player once more declined to comply.

As a result, Bozorov entered the field only in the 83rd minute, but not in place of Komilov, who remained on the pitch until the final whistle.

The situation caused a significant public response among fans and the sports community.

The club’s press service stated that the player’s behavior was “unprofessional,” which became the reason for terminating his contract.

It is worth noting that in early September, Dilshod Komilov made his debut for the Uzbekistan national team and became a winner of the CAFA Nations Cup with the squad.
