Kyrgyz Republic receives a second batch of humanitarian aid

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 May 2020, a ceremony was held in Osh to transfer the second batch of humanitarian aid from the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic, initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of the fight against coronavirus in the country, the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Zhunusov conveyed friendly assistance on behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From the Kyrgyz side, assistance was received by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh Oblast Uzarbek Zhylkybaev.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, territorial bodies of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the media.

The humanitarian aid included medical beds (440 units), electronic pyrometers (1000 units), protective overalls (2500 units), medical gloves (150 000 units), as well as medical masks (150 000 units). Total assistance values makes up US$248,000.

During the transfer ceremony, the Kyrgyz side expressed its sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the entire people of Uzbekistan for their next support to combat the spread of coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan.
