Kusum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. plans to launch production in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --Indian company Kusum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. paid a visit to Uzbekistan on 18-22 December 2018. The Indian delegation met with the Deputy Chairman of the State Investment Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shamil Burnashev.
At the end of September 2018, during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India, an agreement on organization of production of anesthetic drugs, antibiotics, antifungal and antirheumatic drugs was signed between Kusum Healthcare and the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry totaling US$5 million.
During the meeting with the deputy chairman of the committee Shamil Burnashev, the foreign side expressed interest in creating a joint or 100% foreign enterprise for the production of painkillers, antibiotics, antifungal and antirheumatic drugs.
Shamil Burnashev stressed that Uzbekistan has good experience in working with Indian pharmaceutical companies. In addition, products from Kusum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. ”today has access to the pot of the republic, providing the population with a line of drugs. The opening of production in specially created pharmaceutical SEZs will not only provide modern pharmaceuticals to one of the most densely populated countries of Central Asia, but can also become a link throughout the region.
It was noted that the investment project is planned to be implemented in 2020. The preliminary cost of the project is 5 million dollars. In early 2019, marketing research will be completed to implement the next step to the business plan of the investment project.
During the meeting in the State Investment Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the delegation of Kusum Healthcare met with representatives of the Agency for development of the pharmaceutical industry and the khokimiyat of Tashkent region.
On 20 December, a visit to the Bustonlik Farm and Parkent Farm Free Economic Zone was organized for representatives of the Indian company, where the delegation familiarized itself with the conditions of the free economic zone, the existing infrastructure, the facilities of other companies, and discussed preliminary locations for the construction of the plant.
