KT Corp. plans to produce electric meters in Uzbekistan

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues on creation of joint venture and start of production of electronic meters in the project Implementation of the automated system of accounting and control of consumption of electric energy.

South Korean company KT Corp. won a tender for modernization of the system on electricity accounting in three regions of Uzbekistan with the cost of US$101 million.

KT Corp. signed a contract with the joint-stock company Uzbekenergo for modernization of the system on electricity accounting in Bukhara, Jizzakh and Samarkand regions.

Within the contract, KT Corp. will install 1 million electricity meters based on two-side communication technology and create automated system of control and accounting electricity consumption in three regions. The project will be implemented within 28 months.
