KOICA and Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations are implementing new project in Khorezm region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Korea International Cooperation Agency of the Republic of Korea (KOICA) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed Records of discussions on the “Project for establishment of Vocational Training Center in Urgench district of Khorezm region, strengthening capacity for establishment the national skills testing and certification system and establishment teacher’s training center in Uzbekistan

Establishment of the Vocational training center in Khorezm region will strengthening capacity for establishment the National skills testing and certification system in Uzbekistan in compliance with requirements of the labor market, social system and government policy to enhance teaching competencies of incumbent and new teachers of the vocational training centers supported by KOICA and vocational colleges under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations in Uzbekistan. KOICA assistance will be implemented by providing theory of instructional learning method and advanced skills and technology to increase employment possibility.

The Project is planned to implement from 2020 to 2024 on grant funding, in amount of 14 mln USD. Vocational training center will be constructed in Urgench district of Khorezm region and Teachers’ Training Center for the National Certification System will be established in Tashkent city.

Urgench vocational training center will propose training in 5 departments (Electricity, Automotive, Welding and Plumbing, Beauty, Hotel Service).

This is a reminder that Urgench project is the fifth KOICA project in the field of development of vocational training system in Uzbekistan. Tashkent Vocational training center was established in 2012, Centers of vocational training in Samarkand and Shakhrisabz, which were constructed and commissioned with KOICA’s support in October 2016 and July 2018 relatively, are sustainably conduct their activity,  So far, the vocational training center in Ferghana is under construction and its commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2021.

Implementing grant assistance projects of Korean government, KOICA agency is committed to make contribution in development of human resourced and establishment of workplaces by applying advanced models of Korean technical and professional education and training as well as experience.
