Kirsan Ilyumzhinov meets with youth of Uzbekistan
The meeting of Kirsan Ilyumzhinov was organized at the initiative of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Ahmedkhadjayev took part in the event.
Rector of the Inha University in Tashkent Sarvar Babakhodjaev opened the meeting. In his speech, the head of the university briefed the participants about the activities of Kirsan Ilyumzhinov in different positions.
In his turn, Azim Ahmedkhadjayev said that he had discussed with the FIDE President issue of opening the chess faculty at IUT. He added that according to the data, the progress of children, who are engaged in chess, is 40% higher.
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov addressed the students and talked about his life and how he earned his first million. He noted that he introduces chess in schools in Kalmykia and it helped Kalmykian children regularly took prizes at Olympiads in mathematics, physics, and biology.
FIDE head said that his main goal is to teach 1 billion people in the world to play chess. In his opinion, with help of chess, many conflicts in the world can be prevented.
If persons think like in chess before any move, people will take less thoughtful steps, he said.
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov also thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for decision to include chess in the school curriculum.
Speaking about the opening of the chess faculty, the FIDE President stated that if a decision is made to open the faculty, he is ready to help with the books and organization of the master classes.
Within the framework of the visit, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov played blitz games with IUT Rector Sarvar Babakhodjaev and IUT student Saidrasul Usmonhodjaev.
FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov left his wishes in the Book of Honored Guests of Inha University in Tashkent.
