Khumoyun Sultanov First Secures Victory for Uzbekistan in Davis Cup Match in Lagos

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan men’s national tennis team continues its campaign in the Davis Cup World Group II play-offs, with matches taking place in Lagos, Nigeria, the press service of the Uzbekistan Tennis Federation reported.

On the opening day of play, Khumoyun Sultanov delivered a confident performance, defeating Nigeria’s Kanis Abua in straight sets, 6:3, 6:4, to secure a crucial win for the national team.

In the second match, Abdulaziz Usmonjonov was defeated by Daniel Adele in three sets, 6:4, 2:6, 4:6.

The Davis Cup is one of the world’s most prestigious international team competitions in men’s tennis and has been held annually since 1900 under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation.
