Recently, the head of Uzbekistan instructed to return the monument, ensemble and the name of " Peoples’ Friendship" to the center of the capital.

"In connection with this, preparatory work began on the site near the Peoples’ Friendship Palace. Here, a sculptural composition is set that symbolizes the mercy and humanism of the Uzbek people, the friendship of peoples, brotherhood, unity and solidarity in the face of military deprivation, "the khokimiyat said.

The khokimiyat underlined that as a result of construction work in the central streets and on the roads of the capital, some inconvenience is created. In this regard, we hope that the residents and guests of the capital will be sympathetic to the temporary inconvenience that occurs during construction work throughout the city.

"In the future, these works will serve primarily for the convenience of residents and visitors of the city," the statement said.
