Khiva to Host First Central Asia-Germany Expert Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16–17 April 2026, the city of Khiva will host the inaugural Expert Forum of Central Asian countries and Germany.
The event is being organized as part of the initiative put forward by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during the "Central Asia – Germany" summit held in Astana in September 2024.
The organizers include the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Regional Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia, and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Office in Uzbekistan.
More than 50 representatives are expected to participate, including heads of leading think tanks, experts, members of scientific and educational circles, and representatives of the business communities from Germany and Central Asian countries.
The forum's primary objective is to launch a permanent expert platform to provide analytical support for the "Central Asia + Germany" format. Key areas of discussion will include political dialogue, economic cooperation and industrial partnership, digital transformation, and the development of human capital through academic exchanges and organized labor migration.
