Khalq Bank and Mastercard Launch AI Credit Scoring Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khalq Bank of Uzbekistan and global payments company Mastercard have signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at introducing next-generation bank cards and implementing an artificial intelligence-based credit scoring system.
The agreement was signed during the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank held in Samarkand, where financial institutions and development partners discussed regional economic modernization.
According to both sides, the partnership is focused on strengthening Uzbekistan’s financial sector through the adoption of advanced digital technologies in banking services.
One of the key initiatives is the launch of a new payment product called Xalq Card. The bank stated that the card will be designed with a personalized approach for customers, taking into account international best practices, local market conditions, and everyday user needs.
The project is intended not only as a payment tool but as a fully integrated financial service embedded in customers’ daily financial activities.
The second major component of the cooperation is the introduction of an AI-powered lending system. This technology will automate the processing of loan applications and reduce reliance on manual decision-making.
The system is expected to analyze applications within seconds, significantly increasing processing speed and improving risk assessment accuracy. Khalq Bank expects that AI integration will enhance transparency and accessibility of financial services for the population.
The agreement also includes the integration of Mastercard’s global financial technologies into Khalq Bank’s ecosystem, which both parties say will improve efficiency, convenience, and the overall quality of banking services.
