Khairullo Ibadullaev Awarded State Medal for Saving a Seven-Year-Old Boy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has awarded Khairullo Ibadullaev the “Jasorat” Medal for his courage and selflessness in saving a child in Saint Petersburg.

The decision to honor him recognizes his heroic actions in an extraordinary and dangerous situation, during which Ibadullaev, risking his own life and health, saved a seven-year-old boy falling from the upper floors of a multi-story building. His actions exemplify the bravery and valor characteristic of the people of Uzbekistan.

The incident occurred on Petrozavodskaya Street in Saint Petersburg. The boy was playing near an open window and slipped, catching onto a ledge.

Ibadullaev noticed the child inside the apartment and shouted for him to move away from the window. When the boy’s strength gave out and he could no longer hold on, Ibadullaev managed to position his hands and catch him.

He immediately carried the boy into the building’s entrance, where neighbors and the rescuer himself provided first aid until medical personnel arrived.

According to media reports, the child has autism. The fall resulted in a fractured leg and internal injuries, and he is currently in intensive care.

During the rescue, Ibadullaev suffered fractures to his hand and ribs and was hospitalized; however, he has stated that his condition is now stable.
