Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan Rail Freight Up 16% in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, cargo turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan via the network of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy increased by 16% to reach 32.3 million tonnes, Dunyo News Agency reported, citing National Business Kazakhstan.

Export shipments accounted for 13 million tonnes. In particular, grain exports to Uzbekistan rose by 32%, totaling 4.5 million tonnes.

Overall, in 2025, a total of 319.9 million tonnes of cargo was transported across the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy network, representing a 5.5% increase compared to 2024. Export volumes grew by 7.1% to reach 89.2 million tonnes.
