Kazakhstan Opens Modernized “Kazygurt” Border Checkpoint with Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Kazakhstan has inaugurated the upgraded “Kazygurt” (“S. Najimov”) automobile border checkpoint on the border with Uzbekistan, the press service of the Kazakh government reported.
The opening is part of the state program to modernize border infrastructure.
According to officials, the implementation of new technologies has reduced border crossing time to 30 minutes and increased capacity to 1,000 vehicles per day.
The modernized complex meets international standards and is equipped with an automated vehicle registration system, advanced scanning equipment, weigh-in-motion systems, X-ray and television inspection units, thermal imagers, and radiation monitoring devices.
Traffic management at the checkpoint provides separate lanes for pedestrians, passenger cars, and freight vehicles.
For cargo transport, automated through-corridors have been established, allowing vehicles to undergo technical inspection without stopping, significantly speeding up border crossing procedures.
