Karshi’s Public Transport Fleet Expanded with 43 New Modern Buses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Karshi has received 43 new modern buses aimed at upgrading and expanding the city’s public transport system.

The delivery is part of the ongoing implementation of Presidential directives focused on improving passenger transportation in regional centers, enhancing safety, and providing greater convenience for residents. The new vehicles are modern foreign-made buses equipped with all necessary features for comfortable operation.

Specifically, the transport companies Sharofiddin-Nurillo, Beshkent Karshi Trans Service, and DilSamo-Nur acquired 37 Yutong buses, while the enterprise Bazarcha purchased six AziaStar buses.

The launch of the new fleet was marked by a ceremonial event attended by the hokim of Kashkadarya Region, Murodjon Azimov, representatives of the senior generation, and the general public. The buses will serve four city routes outlined in Karshi’s General Transport Plan.

As a result, the number of routes operating under the gross contract system in the city has increased to 12, with a total of 139 buses in service.

The new fleet is expected to provide high-quality public transport services for up to 150,000 residents daily.

Additionally, five proactive entrepreneurs are working this year to purchase another 100 modern Chinese buses, which will be allocated across nine routes under the same gross contract system.
