Kamilov and Linkevičius discussed development of relations between Uzbekistan and Lithuania

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Antanas Linkevičius held talks in Tashkent on 8 May.

The foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged views on the practical aspects of further development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, tourist, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

According to the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the ministers underlined with satisfaction the program of the visit of the Lithuanian delegation, as full of important meetings and events, and expressed interest in the productive results.

Taking into account that heads of leading companies arrived in Tashkent as part of the delegation of Lithuania, special attention was paid to the prospects of implementing mutually beneficial programs and projects in the field of trade, investment, transport and logistics. It was stressed that despite the observed trend of dynamic growth in bilateral trade, which exceeded US$264 million in 2017, the parties have significant potential for increasing cooperation in this important area.

Some international and regional issues are also discussed at the meeting.
