KAMAZ and Uzavtosanoat to open joint production in Uzbekistan
The document was signed by Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ and Umidjan Salimov, Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat.
According to KAMAZ, the sides intend to establish production of trucks under the KAMAZ brand on basis of UzAutoTrailer. In the future, the parties plan to set up a joint venture to assemble vehicles in the territory of Uzbekistan.
In line with the agreement, KAMAZ and Uzavtosanoat will carry out activities through “Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ” and UzAutoTrailer respectively.
“Foreign trade company KAMAZ” will supply assembly sets of parts and accessories to UzAutoTrailer. The Uzbek company will build the chassis and install the superstructure of its own and joint production.
By the end of December 2017, it is planned to supply the first 100 kits for assembling KAMAZ vehicles in Uzbekistan.
The first assembled vehicles will be presented on the joint Customer Day, which will be held in early 2018. The vehicles will be sold on domestic market of Uzbekistan and export markets through distributor’s dealer and its dealer network
Also within the framework of the cooperation agreement, KAMAZ will receive spare parts and special bodies from Uzbekistan.
