Kaiser: “I am confident that the people of Uzbekistan will be able to overcome all the obstacles that stand in their way and make their country prosperous and stable”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In an interview with Dunyo news agency, Chairman of the German organization Public Diplomacy Initiativkreis eV, executive director of Keiser communication GmbH, Guntaram Kaiser, shared his assessments regarding the effectiveness of measures taken in Uzbekistan to prevent the further spread of coronavirus infection.

“The coronavirus pandemic very clearly shows how fragile our common world is and how much we are dependent on each other. People in Germany, and I personally, are very concerned about how quickly the coronavirus spreads, and what tragic consequences it carries. We express our deep sympathy to the people of the United States, China, Italy and Spain, where many people died as a result of the spread of the coronavirus.

Here in Germany, although the disease is also spreading quite rapidly, the mortality rate remains relatively low. However, the elderly are also particularly vulnerable in our country. It is among them that the mortality rate is very high.

The federal government and local authorities in Germany are taking all possible measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Restrictions have been introduced in order to minimize contact with others and to refuse private trips. I hope that thanks to the measures taken and the support of the population, we will be able to gradually overcome this problem.

As I know, effective proactive measures have also been taken in Uzbekistan, which helps to curb the widespread spread of coronavirus. The latest news from Uzbekistan clearly shows how low the incidence rate in the republic is compared to other parts of the world.

At the same time, Uzbekistan, like other countries, faces great challenges due to the coronavirus. More than 12 thousand quarantined citizens were returned to the country. In total, about 100 thousand people are reported to be in quarantine in Uzbekistan, which is a huge burden for the healthcare system.

However, as we see, the situation in the republic is under control thanks to urgent measures taken by the leadership of the state. These measures were decisive and timely, which helped to avoid a big catastrophe.

As far as I know, quarantine zones and hospitals capable of receiving tens of thousands of people are being created at an accelerated pace in the regions of the republic. Medical institutions are provided with the necessary test systems and protective equipment, work in this direction does not stop.

At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, active measures are being taken to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the country's economy. In this difficult time, special attention and support is given to entrepreneurs, including those involved in tourism and hotel business. They were granted tax benefits and subsidies from the state budget. For these purposes, a special Fund for Supporting the Development of Entrepreneurship has been created in the country.

As experience shows, in these difficult times it is necessary to strictly follow the decisions and directions adopted by the government, because this is the only way to get out of this situation without serious consequences.
