Joint Meeting of Uzbekistan–Saudi Arabia Interparliamentary Groups Held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 October, a joint session of the interparliamentary groups “Uzbekistan–Saudi Arabia” and “Saudi Arabia–Uzbekistan” was held online at the Senate, the press service of the Senate of Uzbekistan said.

During the meeting, participants discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for their further development, paying particular attention to deepening interparliamentary ties and expanding cooperation in trade and economic affairs, investment, energy, IT, education, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that the multifaceted relations between the two countries have been steadily strengthened thanks to the political will and determination of the leaders of both states. The meeting emphasized that high-level meetings and visits in recent years have elevated the strategic partnership to a new level.

The discussions also focused on strengthening parliamentary oversight of the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, enhancing the activities of interparliamentary groups, exchanging experiences in lawmaking, and ensuring the regular continuation of parliamentary cooperation.
