Jizzakh Organic agricultural cluster created 250 jobs in Jizzakh region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Jizzakh Organic agricultural cluster will employ 250 residents of Zaamin district of Jizzakh region. There is a recruitment for the positions of irrigators, tractor assistants and general laborers.

At the end of April 2020, Jizzakh Organic began recruiting staff for 250 positions. The jobs created by the agricultural cluster contribute to solving the problems voiced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the video conference on 22 April 2020. In particular, new vacancies do not require qualifications and special education. This will make it possible to employ representatives of particularly vulnerable segments of the population, who, as the President indicated, “were unemployed and depended on daily earnings before quarantine.”

“The increase in the number of jobs is an important factor in maintaining the well-being of the people. We know that due to restrictions imposed, many residents lost their sources of income. Now the unemployment rate in Jizzakh region is 9.2%. The number of cases of coronavirus in our region is small, therefore, subject to sanitary and hygienic rules, people can work without risk to their health. Jobs at Jizzakh Organic will reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on the economy,” Akmal Binokulov, spokeswoman for the Jizzakh regional khokimiyat, said.

Staff expansion was driven by five factors:

1.increase in the area of sowing fodder crops up to 5.7 thousand ha;

  1. restoration of the irrigation system on the allotted lands;
  2. expansion of the fleet of agricultural machinery. The volume of imports of equipment from Europe reached US$8.7 million;
  3. preparation for receiving 2.5 thousand heads of Dorper breed sheep from Australia;
  4. preparation for the reception of 5 thousand heads of breeding cattle from America and Russia, including 2 thousand bulls of Angus breed from Miratorg, the largest meat producer in the Russian market.

“The work at Jizzakh Organic is carried out in compliance with sanitary standards. However, as the President noted, “the time lost today and the opportunity to not be returned tomorrow”, therefore, we are actively engaged in sowing and import of high-breed cattle. What our company is doing today will ensure the food security of Uzbekistan tomorrow. Three meals a day and transportation to the place of work were organized for the cluster employees, nearby bicycles are issued to employees nearby. In addition, new vacancies are not seasonal, which means that people’s income will be constant and stable,” commented Jizzakh Organic director Hikmatilla Karimov.

Created in accordance with the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Jizzakh Organic is engaged in the production of meat and dairy products, crop production and livestock breeding. The immediate plans of the Jizzakh cluster are to become the largest producer of marbled beef in Uzbekistan. The total investment in the company is US$150 million.
