JICA Delegation Reviews Results of Non-Communicable Disease Prevention Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 1 to 6 February 2026, an official delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is visiting Uzbekistan.
The primary goal of the visit is to evaluate the outcomes of ongoing projects aimed at creating conditions for the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, implementing early rehabilitation programs for diseases leading to disability, as well as fostering bilateral cooperation and experience exchange between the two countries.
During the visit, JICA representatives are holding meetings with the National Social Security Agency to review key areas of activity. Discussions cover completed work and achieved results in the “Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases” project, the Agency’s participation in the development of rehabilitation services at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Neurology and Stroke, and the organization of early rehabilitation services to prevent disability within the framework of bilateral cooperation.
In addition, delegation members plan to visit the National Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Center for Persons with Disabilities to assess the effectiveness of the services provided and explore further opportunities for cooperation in medical and social support.
