Jasur Khodjaev Crowned World Champion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan para-athletics team added another medal at the ongoing World Championship in New Delhi.
Uzbek athlete Jasur Khodjaev, competing in the men’s F32 shot put final, recorded his best result of the season with a throw of 9.96 meters, earning the gold medal for Uzbekistan.
The final standings in the men’s F32 shot put were: Jasur Khodjaev (Uzbekistan) — 9.96 m, Athanasios Konstantinidis (Greece) — 9.65 m, Mohamed Nadjib (Algeria) — 9.56 m.
Other Uzbek athletes also performed strongly: Yorkinbek Odilov and Ilkhom Turgunov reached the men’s F57 discus final, while Fakhriddin Khamraev advanced to the T12 400-meter final.
To date, the Uzbekistan team has won a total of eight medals: 3 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze.
