Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted the opening ceremony of the only Japanese research and analytical center in the Central Asian region, Dunyo news agency reported.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Higher and Secondary Special Education, Innovation Development, the Academy of Sciences, the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Foreign Relations and Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Uzbekistan Friendship Society -Japan ”, teachers and university students, media workers.
The main goal of the Center is to deepen Uzbek-Japanese relations in all areas, ensuring the implementation of the Decree of the President of our country “On Approving the Concept of the Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” of October 8, 2019.
The strategic partnerships established between the two countries in 2002 are developing dynamically in the socio-political, trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian, tourism and other fields.
Fruitful cooperation in the field of education is demonstrated by the activities of the Japan Law Center at the Tashkent State Law University, the Uzbek-Japanese Youth Innovation Center at the Tashkent State Technical University, the Japanese Media Training Center at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, and the Department of Japanese Studies at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. The mechanism of the conference of university rectors of Uzbekistan and Japan is also a clear confirmation of mutually beneficial relations in this direction.
During the years of independence, more than five thousand Uzbek young people have studied at various universities in Japan and make full use of all their knowledge and experience for the prosperity of our country.
The scientific and educational process of the UWED is also aimed at actively participating in the rapprochement of the two countries. For many years, student exchange programs with leading universities in Japan have been successfully implemented in it, and well-known Japanese experts conduct classes in the Japanese language, modern economics, and the domestic and foreign policies of the Land of the Rising Sun.
The logical continuation of these events is the opening of the Japan Scientific and Analytical Center at the UWED. Here highly qualified specialists, researchers, expert groups and analytical circles comprehensively study the Japanese state and society. It also examines the fundamental studies of important political, economic, social and cultural processes taking place in this country, and international initiatives of Japan.
The history of bilateral relations, multifaceted cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, and other topical issues will become priority areas of research at the Japan Research and Analytical Center at the UWED.
The center will assist in organizing lectures by leading Japanese scientists and experts in the field of foreign policy and economics, and experienced diplomats.
The opening of such a modern analytical center will significantly increase the academic potential and capabilities of the university, the quality of youth education.
UWED will undoubtedly create good conditions in order to occupy high positions in such internationally recognized ratings as Quacquarelli Symonds, Times Higher Education, Academic Ranking of World Universities and others.
