Japanese investors show interest in the projects of Uzbekneftegaz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz Bakhodir Sidikov held a meeting with a delegation of Japan headed by the Chairman of the Working Group on Foreign Trade, Investments and Infrastructure of the Silk Road Japan-Uzbekistan Foundation, an advisor to Marubeni Corporation Mamoru Sekiyama.

The delegation included representatives of such companies as Toyo Engineering Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Solid Corporation, Sakai Heavy Industries, and others.

The parties underlined long-term and successful cooperation of Uzbekneftegaz with Japanese companies Marubeni Corporation and Toyo Engineering Corporation in such projects as "Bukhara Refinery Construction" and "Construction of Shurtan MCC".

The Uzbek side especially noted the high quality of Japanese equipment, which is operated at the country’s plants. Also, emphasis was placed on the fact that within the framework of the project "Organization of production of synthetic liquid fuel", the main process equipment - Fisher-Tropsch reactors - is manufactured by Hitachi.

The Japanese side expressed interest in participating in investment projects of Uzbekneftegaz, in supplying equipment for gas-chemical complexes.

Following the discussions, the parties reached an agreement on exploring possible areas of cooperation within the oil and gas industry.
