Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The khokim of Tashkent, Jahongir Artikkhojaev, met with the vice-governor of Guangdong Province, Zhang Xin.

The meeting was held in the city of Guangjou and was aimed at further strengthening friendly ties. The khokim of Tashkent expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the warm welcome and hospitality and said that he appreciated the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation with the People’s Republic of China.

In particular, he noted the special role of Guangdong province in attracting investment in the Chinese economy, adding that today such large companies from Guangdong province as Huawei and ZTE are successfully operating on the Uzbek market, in addition, the products of Midea, Gree and TCL are widely known in Uzbekistan .

Artikhodjaev proposed introducing the vast experience and advanced technologies of Guangdong companies into the production processes of Tashkent, and also drew attention to the fact that the development of cooperation with Chinese companies would be beneficial for both parties. He emphasized the hokim and the amenities and opportunities created for tourists in Uzbekistan, and noted the importance of developing bilateral cooperation in this area.

In turn, the vice-governor of the province of Guangdong Zhang Xin said that relations between Uzbekistan and China have historically developed since the Great Silk Road and that the Chinese highly appreciate comprehensive cooperation with the Uzbek people, adding that in the near future cooperation in the field of industry, trade, education , science and many other areas will enter a new stage of development.
