IUT Professor conducts scientific visit to Canadian National Laboratory
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- IUT physics professor Alisher Sanetullaev visited Canada’s National Laboratory for Nuclear and Particle Physics from July 26 to August 25 this summer. As a part of an international collaboration, he participated in two experiments at the world-class laboratory.
The first of the experiments was to investigate the astrophysically relevant proton-alpha reaction on the copper-59 isotope. The results from this experiment will help constrain astrophysical reaction rates, in particular in the cores of stars. Collaborators for this experiment came from universities in Canada, Japan, and the United States.
The second experiment measured the excited states in Krypton-92 and Krypton-94 nuclei by one neutron transfer reaction. This will improve our knowledge of heavy element synthesis using the structure information of heavy elements such as Krypton. Along with Dr. Sanetullaev from IUT, scientists from the University of Guelph, University of British Columbia, McMaster University, Saint Mary’s University, University of Edinburgh, and other universities participated in this experiment.
The results of the analyses of these experiments will be published in high impact scientific journals.
