İstanbul Başakşehir defeat Alanyaspor as Shomurodov converts penalty

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — İstanbul Başakşehir claimed a 2–1 away victory over Alanyaspor in the 23rd round of the Turkish Süper Lig.

Uzbekistan national team forward Eldor Shomurodov and midfielder Abbos Fayzullaev both started the match. Shomurodov was substituted in the 70th minute, with Fayzullaev leaving the pitch a minute later.

The scoring was opened in the 14th minute by Davie Selke. In the 44th minute, Shomurodov confidently converted a penalty, which had been earned by Fayzullaev. Alanyaspor pulled one goal back in the 67th minute through Florent Hadergjonaj.

After 23 matches, İstanbul Başakşehir have collected 36 points and currently sit sixth in the league table. Shomurodov has now scored 16 goals in the Turkish championship and leads the league’s top scorers’ chart.
