Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 9 April 2020, a videoconference was held between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov and the vice president of Serba Dinamik International Limited (SDIL) Palendran Palachandran, which was also attended by the deputy governor of Khorezm region Shavkat Tulyaganov, and Deputy Head of the Department of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurzod Khayrullaev.
During the videoconference, issues of further practical implementation of the investment project on the organization of the production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine in the Khazorasp free economic zone worth US$250 million of direct Malaysian investments were substantively discussed.
The participants of the event were informed about measures taken in Uzbekistan to ensure macroeconomic stability, uninterrupted operation of industries and sectors of the economy, implementation of investment projects with the participation of foreign companies, as well as measures taken to combat the spread of coronavirus in the country.
As a result of the videoconference, agreements were reached on the development by SDIL of a “Road Map” for the implementation of this investment project and the organization of the visit of the SDIL expert group to Uzbekistan.
