Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Senate Kengash of the Oliy Majlis was held on 23 June in the form of video conference.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Chairman of the upper house of parliament Tanzila Narbaeva, discussed issues of socio-economic development of Tashkent region, solving problems of concern to the population, improving their living conditions, heard reports of sector leaders on work done in this direction.

It was noted that on 16-18 June, the Working Group of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis studied the activities of sectors in the cities of Almalyk, Akhangaran, Parkent and Chinaz districts, which were selected from the list of districts (cities) assigned to the heads of sectors of Tashkent region.

During the study conducted by the Working Group, the indicators of the socio-economic development of the region are analyzed. In particular, in the first quarter of 2020, the gross territorial product in the region made up 11 trillion 578.9 billion soums, and the growth rate compared to the same period of the previous year was 4.4%.

In the reporting period, attraction of 3 trillion 169.2 billion soums of capital investments in the economy of the region was achieved from all sources of financing. In addition, 438 enterprises operating in the region exported goods and services in the amount of US$357.85 million to 54 foreign countries.

During the meeting, it was also noted that on the ground sectors solve problems that cause complaints among the population. During the coronavirus pandemic, comprehensive support was given to families in need within the framework of the nationwide movement “Compassion and Support”.

At the same time, it was noted that during the study it was revealed that the activities of some sectors of the region were organized inefficiently, the work was not fully organized on a systematic basis. So, in some sectors, the approved Roadmaps are formed not taking into account the problems of the population, but by copying the measures indicated in the investment programs.

Also, the implementation of some of the Road Maps is not fully ensured, system monitoring for their implementation is not established, in most cases, in solving problems of the population it is limited to sending letters to the relevant departments and organizations.

In removing families in need from poverty, the focus is on providing them with food. Meanwhile, it is advisable to create stable sources of income for them by providing them with permanent work. In particular, in the 2nd sector of Chinaz district, the approach to the work to bring the population out of poverty is absolutely unsatisfactory. For example, despite the fact that a working group organized in the sector on 1 June, 2020, compiled acts to exclude 24 families from the list of 32 needy families living in the Bunyodkor mahalla of this territory. However, their analysis showed that the exclusion of all these families from the list is incorrect.

Withn the framework of the nationwide movement "Compassion and Support" in the region do not adhere to the principle of social equality in providing material assistance to needy families. For example, on 23 May 2020, the head of the 3-sector of Chinaz district gave food products worth 50 thousand soums to a family of 13 people, on 24 May, food products worth 350 thousand soums were transferred to a family of 2 people.

In addition, during the meeting it was noted that work was not carried out on a regular basis to identify and solve problems of the population by circumventing a yard, there were cases of superficial attitude to the employment of representatives of the needy population during the coronavirus pandemic, and the sector review work did not meet the requirements citizens and promoting the solution of the problems raised in them.

At the same time, it was noted that due to the fact that crime prevention was not set up correctly in the territory of the 3rd sector of the city of Almalyk during the five months of this year, compared to the same period of last year, it grew by 42%, in the territory of the fourth sector - 75 %, in the 4-sector of Parkent district - by 33%.

The meeting also focused on the presence of urgent problems identified during the study in districts and cities and awaiting solution.

The reports of the heads of sectors on the socio-economic development of the region, solving problems of concern to the population, improving their living conditions were also heard.

On this issue, the relevant resolution of the Senate Kengash of the Oliy Majlis was adopted.
