Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In order to implement the agreements reached during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Turkey in February 2020, as well as on the basis of the implementation of the state program of the Strategy of Action in five priority areas for the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 years in the “Year of Science, Education and the Digital Economy”, on 10 June 2020, an online conference was held with delegations of the two countries on the discussion of the opening of the TOBB ETU branch of the University of Economics and Technology of the Union of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges in Tashkent. It should be noted that on 4-7 March 2020, the Uzbek delegation arrived in Ankara to discuss the opening of a branch on the basis of the Tashkent State Economic University, during which organizational issues and the admission of applicants for the coming years were discussed.

The conference was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the leadership of the Tashkent State Economic University, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Turkey Alisher Agzamkhojaev, Advisor to the Ambassador for Trade and Economic Affairs The Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkey Azizbek Salahiddinov, Advisor to the Ambassador for Political Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkey, Shukhrat Yigitaliev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan Era Mehmet Surayya, representatives of the TOBB ETU University Guven Sak and Yusuf Sarinay, as well as media workers from both countries. The moderator was a representative of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.

During the conference, they discussed the creation of a website, platform and other materials for the development of the Tashkent branch of the university, as well as the issuance of TOUB ETU diplomas, as well as the harmonization of student admission conditions and assistance in the formation of the library fund, and educational, scientific and methodological manuals. During the negotiations, the parties reached a positive solution to these issues.

The University began its activities in 2002 and today is considered one of the strongest in teaching staff, it trains personnel in the field of entrepreneurship. TOBB ETU is also established as a university that educates entrepreneurs with individuality and international business experience. The University took as its basis in its curriculum and education system, the elements of dual education aimed at "co-education" with industry, where theoretical knowledge lasting 2 semesters is associated with practice in 1 semester.

In 2018, the University took 32nd place among the best universities in the world, founded since 2000 in the ranking of “Young Universities of 2018: Millennium Universities”.
