Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Negotiations between the First Deputy Minister L. Kudratov and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation V. Yevtukhov were held through video conferencing.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of practical issues of investment and trade and economic cooperation, and also examined the course of implementation of joint projects, existing issues and mechanisms for resolving them.
A common position was identified on the need to develop and deepen investment cooperation in priority areas. The issues of accelerating the implementation of investment projects under development to create high-tech industries in agriculture, food processing, the textile industry, engineering, healthcare and other areas were considered. Separate project proposals for the production of solar panels, as well as the introduction of digital technologies in a number of industries of Uzbekistan were discussed.
They also considered promising mechanisms to increase the volume of trade by mutually removing the existing trade barriers for the access of Uzbek and Russian products to the markets of the two countries.
Following the results of the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue and develop systemic interaction on the issues of implementing existing agreements and implementing joint projects.
