Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 July 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held talks with the Deputy General Director of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Marwan Abdullah al-Ghanim in the format of a video conference.

During the conversation, issues of further development of financial and technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and KFAED were discussed.

The parties paid special attention to the Fund’s participation in socio-economic projects in Uzbekistan, in particular in the construction of residential buildings in rural areas, improving the water supply system and providing the population with drinking water.

The Deputy Director General of KFAED supported the proposal of the Uzbek side to direct the Fund’s funds in the amount of US$5.6 million to equip medical institutions of Uzbekistan with modern equipment in the framework of the fight against coronavirus.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached on further expanding cooperation, including through the implementation of various projects with the participation of KFAED.
