Issues of expanding cooperation with the city of Osaka discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to promote economic diplomacy, expand economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the regions of Japan and Uzbekistan, as well as attract private Japanese companies to implement joint projects in the republic, a working trip was carried out to Osaka, within the framework of which meetings and negotiations were held with the leadership of the Bureau of Economic Strategy for Business and International Promotion of the Government of Osaka, the Japanese Organization for the Development of Foreign Trade (JETRO), Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, Daido Industries, Inc, as well as compatriots studying and working in Osaka.

During negotiations with the leadership of the Bureau of Economic Strategy for Business and International Promotion of the Government of Osaka, prospects for bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Osaka in the economic and trade spheres, the organization of "business seminars", the presentation of investment projects, as well as the establishment of cooperation with private companies in Osaka were discussed.

T. Toriyama, Director of the Bureau of Economic Strategy for Business and International Promotion of the Government of Osaka, expressed great interest in establishing cooperation and establishing long-term relations between Uzbekistan and Osaka. In addition, T. Toriyama welcomed the decision of Uzbekistan to participate in the exhibition "OSAKA EXPO 2025", assuring the provision of comprehensive support in organizing the stand of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the exhibition pavilion.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize a "business seminar" with a presentation of the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan for the Osaka business community in October this year as the situation with the pandemic improves.

In accordance with the program, negotiations were held with the leadership of the JETRO with headquarters in Osaka. During the meeting, the leadership of JETRO got acquainted with the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, created by a favorable investment climate and business conditions. During the negotiations, the organization supported the continuation of conducting "business seminars" and events to promote the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan on the example of other regions of Japan.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize, together with JETRO, a "business seminar" with a presentation of the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan for the Osaka business community in October this year as the situation with the pandemic improves.

Further, according to the program, meetings were held with the chief strategic manager of Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd T. Kobayashi and the head of department K. Suzuki.

Representatives of the company expressed interest in expanding business in Uzbekistan by increasing the range of products that are in great demand in Japan, as well as their willingness to open a representative office and, subsequently, production as the product market expands.

During negotiations with the management of Daido Industries, Inc, the progress of the grant project, implemented jointly with the Republican Center for Blood Transfusion, funded by JIKA, was discussed. The parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of the project and obtain JIKA's approval for financing. In addition, during a visit to Daido Industries, Inc, embassy representatives got acquainted with the company's production facilities for the production of equipment that is in great demand and has established itself as a reliable equipment for storing blood in medical institutions in Japan.

Also, meetings were held with compatriots studying and working in Japanese companies in Osaka, during which consular services were provided to compatriots.

Compatriots supported the proposal to organize cultural, humanitarian and sports events with the participation of Uzbek citizens living in Kansai.

As a result, an agreement was reached on holding regular meetings and intensifying the work of compatriots in order to expand economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and the city of Osaka.

Along with this, negotiations were organized with representatives of the international hospital "Red Cross" in Osaka.
