Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 6 February, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK, Said Rustamov, met with the vice-rector of the University of Westminster for global interaction, Professor Alexandra Hayes, and the head of the department for transnational education, Stephen Wallis.

During the meeting, promising areas of cooperation with Westminster University were discussed.

Alexander Hayes praised the long-standing cooperation of the British university with Uzbekistan, which was established in 2002 in Tashkent, which became the first international English-speaking university in the country.

Against the background of ongoing reforms in the republic, including in the field of education, the British university is interested in further expanding its activities in Uzbekistan, including the introduction of new disciplines and teaching methods, and the organization of professional development courses.

These and other issues are planned to be substantively discussed during the visit of the rector of the International Westminster University Komiljon Karimov to London in the second half of February this year, as well as the visit of Alexandra Hayes to Uzbekistan in March.

An agreement was also reached with representatives of Westminster University on holding Uzbek Film Days on the basis of this university in June 2020 with the organization of an exhibition of national art and cuisine of Uzbekistan as part of the event.
