Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 April 2019 Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Dilyor Khakimov visited the headquarters of Wagening University - one of the leading agricultural universities in the world.
Negotiations were held with the rector, vice-president of the university Arthur Mol, as well as with the manager of international cooperation Ben Jagirlings, senior expert on financing and European programs Dr. Vania Simonova van der Grift and senior researcher Irina Vervey-Novikova.
The proposal of the Uzbek side on the development of a feasibility study for the creation of a horticultural innovation and educational center in Uzbekistan was discussed. It was emphasized that the Dutch innovative technologies and the production of high-value products on their basis can be introduced in our country with the support of international financial institutions.
The parties agreed to implement a joint project to assess the potential of crop production in our country with the creation of a center in which Wagening University will play a leading role. The project envisages the preparation of a feasibility study in order to get an idea of the possibilities for creating, with the participation of Uzbek, Dutch and international partners, an innovation and education center to support the sustainable development of the horticultural sector of Uzbekistan.
