Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A meeting was held in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss the issue of submitting conclusions and proposals to the chambers of the Oliy Majlis based on the results of an analytical and comprehensive assessment of cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Dunyo reports.
The need for the government to bring this issue up for discussion in the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, to examine it in detail with representatives of the people. taking into account the will of the people and their interests was noted in the Message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Parliament on 24 January 2020.
In this regard, in order to study in depth and deeply analyze the cooperation of Uzbekistan with the EAEU, a working group consisting of representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, relevant ministries and departments in terms of economic integration carried out work on the study of 16 major sectors of the country's economy.
The meeting examined the studies of leading independent consulting companies and research institutions, proposals and conclusions of foreign and local experts on this issue.
Expert opinions were examined on major sectors of the economy and industrial policy, streamlining customs tariffing and foreign trade policy, labor migration, standardization and veterinary medicine, sanitary and phytosanitary control, and other issues.
The interconnection of integration processes of Uzbekistan into the World Trade Organization and the EAEU was noted. Based on the results of a comprehensive study of the impact of cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union on the national economy of Uzbekistan, measures to be implemented by the relevant ministries and departments have been outlined, a proposal for cooperation with the EAEU as an observer state has been approved.
Following the meeting, a decision was made to submit to the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan conclusions and proposals developed on the basis of an analytical and comprehensive assessment.
