Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A regular meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council on "Medical Sciences" of the Ministry of Innovative Development was held. Initiative projects submitted for the competition "Grants for women scientists" announced by the Ministry were discussed.
Thus, the applied project "Development of new innovative technologies for teaching children with autism using ABA therapy in Uzbek" was submitted for the competition.
Autism - (Autistic Disorder) is a disorder arising from impaired development of the brain and characterized by severe and pervasive deficits in social interaction and communication, as well as limited interests and repetitive behaviors. All these symptoms appear in a child under 3 years old.
Comprehensive measures are needed to assist families with children with autism, including providing psychological assistance to all family members through the creation of a system of state support. This significantly reduces disability among children with autism and adapts patients with autism to life, helping them to gain knowledge and specialization, bringing benefits to society.
Recent research has shown the importance of using psychological therapies that help children diagnose autism early, establish an emotional connection, motivate and reward independence. Today, it is important to improve cognitive abilities, attention, general and fine motor skills, thinking and speech in children with autism with the help of ABA therapy adapted to our region in Uzbek.
The use of innovative technologies in the Uzbek language in the treatment of children with autism expands the possibilities of treatment in the early stages of autism, reduces disability among children with autism and adapts the child to society. Today, many treatment programs for children with autism have been developed around the world. ABA therapy is an intensive training program based on behavioral technologies and teaching methods. The adaptation of this program to the Uzbek language and the choice of an individual approach to children with autism in the early stages of the disease, the organization of treatment with ABA therapy in special children’s development rooms will increase the effectiveness of this method and will allow achieving good results in this area.
It should be noted that the relevance of childhood autism has been confirmed by all studies conducted in the country in recent years. Research is being conducted on the early detection of autism in children. In the Republic of Uzbekistan, a register of autistic patients is being formed, where cards are issued and the number of children with autism is determined. At the next stage, it is planned to introduce methods of treating autism in children with the help of ABA therapy in Uzbek. The creation of special children’s development rooms, adapted to the healthcare system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the direct use of ABA therapy in the treatment process will increase the effectiveness of the treatment of children with autism.
For the first time, the project will develop innovative electronic programs and applications in Uzbek based on ABA therapy to improve cognition, attention, general and fine motor skills, thinking and speech in autistic children. This program will help develop the skills needed in everyday life (chewing, dressing, talking, etc.), making autistic children independent. Complex therapy with psychologists and speech therapists is carried out in special child development rooms in the health care system, which will create convenience for the poor. The creation of an electronic platform in Uzbek for children with autism based on ABA therapy will improve the development and upbringing of these children, help them adapt to society and independence, and improve the mood and emotional sphere of children with autism.
