Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 May 2020, the Central Office of the Antimonopoly Committee received 34 applications for preliminary consent for mergers and acquisitions of economic entities, as well as for the acquisition of shares (stakes) in the authorized capital of economic entities. 32 of the total number of applications were submitted for the acquisition of shares in the authorized capital of economic entities, 13 of which are from foreign investors.
All requests received during this period were carefully analyzed. In total, the Committee issued preliminary consent for transactions worth 920 billion soums, 49.6% (or 457 billion soums) of which accounted for by foreign investors. This was reported by the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee.
It is expected that investments will be directed to information technology, electrical engineering, construction, the chemical industry, the food industry and similar sectors in the form of direct investment and modern technology.
