Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Israeli news website All Israel in Business published an article about reforms in the cotton and textile sectors of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the article notes that the Israeli company Netafim underlines that over the past three years in Uzbekistan, about 40,000 hectares of cotton fields have been connected to drip irrigation systems, the company has trained a team of 20 people involved in agronomic support in the country.
In addition, the author notes that today the textile industry is one of the main areas of cooperation between Israel and Uzbekistan. The MelekhTek factory is a factory that has been successfully operating in the city of Namangan for three years and produces clothes for the religious population. The company has 80 local workers, and production is expected to reach US$900,000 by the end of the year, according to CEO Natalie Sherman. Another similar enterprise is Khasid Textil in Samarkand. These are the first signs of Israeli textile initiatives.
