Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 16 March 2020, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India Santosh Jha.
The ambassador noted the relevance at the moment of the fight against coronavirus, information was also provided on the security measures taken by the Indian side, and expressed readiness to closely cooperate with the Uzbek side in this direction.
The efforts of Uzbekistan and India to resolve the Afghan crisis, the priority areas of Uzbek-Indian cooperation in the joint implementation of various projects in Afghanistan were also discussed.
The Indian side expressed its readiness to continue to actively contribute to the establishment of a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
Along with this, attention was focused on the implementation of joint Uzbek-Indian projects, in particular equipping the Educational Center for the Training of Afghan Citizens in Termez with the necessary medical equipment, organizing short-term courses, as well as reconstructing the medical institution in Surkhandarya region.
