Islam Abdurakhmonov Appointed as Chairman of the Board of “Uzbekhydroenergo”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 December 2025, Islam Abdurakhmonov was appointed as the new chairman of the board of the state company “Uzbekhydroenergo.” He succeeded his father, Abdugani Sanginov, who had led the company since 2017.

Previously, Islam Abdurakhmonov headed TO‘PALANG HPD HOLDING, the sole founder of the state unitary enterprise To‘palang HPD Water Construction.

The appointment comes amid a series of personnel changes in the top management of major state-owned companies.

On 17 December, Abdugani Sanginov was appointed head of “Uzbekneftegaz,” while his predecessor, Bahodir Sidikov, was dismissed amid issues related to gas shortages and disruptions at methane refueling stations.
