Is an internal affairs officer entitled to use physical force?

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the law, if forceful methods do not ensure the fulfillment of assigned duties, an internal affairs officer has the right to use physical force, including combat fighting methods, in the following cases:

- for the suppression of crimes and administrative offenses;

- for the delivery to the nearest internal affairs body or other law enforcement body of persons who committed crimes or administrative offenses, and the detention of these persons;

- to overcome opposition to the legal requirements of an employee of the internal affairs body.

The use of physical force must correspond to the nature of human behavior and the degree of danger.

Every case of harm to life, health or property of individuals or legal entities as a result of the use of physical force and special means, the internal affairs bodies must immediately notify the prosecutor.
