Iraq’s Market Opens New Opportunities for Uzbek Entrepreneurs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a working visit to the Republic of Iraq, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, together with the Uzbek Ambassador to Iraq, Ayubkhon Yunusov, held a meeting with Sarwar Kamol Khawari, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Kurdistan.
The Kurdistan region has a population of around 7 million, and its domestic market is characterized by strong demand for imported goods, with an annual turnover of approximately US$17 billion.
Key import sectors include food products, agricultural raw materials, industrial equipment, construction materials, household appliances, and chemical products.
The parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, the expansion of business ties, and prospects for implementing joint projects in industrial and investment sectors.
It was noted that Iraq’s market offers significant potential for Uzbek entrepreneurs and provides all necessary conditions for promoting products and services.
Following the meeting, it was proposed to organize a visit of Iraqi company delegations to Uzbekistan in January, including B2B meetings.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry encourages entrepreneurs to actively seize these new market opportunities and affirms its readiness to provide comprehensive support in developing practical cooperation.
