Iraqi Business Representatives Explore Production Processes in Uzbekistan’s Construction, Food, and Pharmaceutical Industries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation representing business circles from the Republic of Iraq is familiarizing itself with Uzbekistan’s industrial potential by visiting a number of key enterprises and observing production processes on site.
The main objective of the visit is to conduct a first-hand assessment of companies operating in construction, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, food processing, furniture manufacturing, and the automotive industry, as well as to evaluate product quality and production capacity.
Such practical visits provide a solid foundation for reaching concrete agreements, developing mutually beneficial cooperation, and launching joint projects.
The first stop on the program was the IMZO plant, which specializes in the production of aluminum and PVC window systems and façade solutions. The company is one of the largest players in the sector, employing around 2,500 people. Its annual export volume reaches 20,000 square meters, while the total area of the production complex spans 16 hectares.
Particular attention was drawn to the plant’s exhibition venue, which showcases products from 25 companies with a combined annual export volume of US$150 million. This infrastructure creates opportunities for holding industry exhibitions, presentations, and large-scale business events, allowing the delegation to assess Uzbekistan’s industrial capabilities in practice.
The second stop was a visit to Almerro Group, which produces confectionery products under the Krember brand.
The production complex covers 8.5 hectares and includes three buildings with a total area of 70,000 square meters. The company employs about 1,000 people, with annual exports amounting to US$20 million, supplying products to 15 countries worldwide. During the visit, guests were presented with a consolidated food industry exhibition featuring 30 companies that collectively employ more than 21,500 people and generate total exports of US$122 million. Iraqi entrepreneurs highly praised the level of production and export potential, expressing interest in expanding cooperation and increasing supplies to the Iraqi market.
Special attention was also given to the pharmaceutical sector. An exhibition was organized at the Grand Pharm Logistics Hub, showcasing the production and logistics capabilities of companies as well as their export potential. The event brought together 21 pharmaceutical companies employing 10,331 people, with total annual exports reaching US$7.7 million.
The exhibition featured modern technologies for the production, storage, and distribution of medicines and medical products, digital solutions, and projects aligned with international standards.
The Iraqi delegation noted the high level of sustainable development in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry and emphasized the importance of the exhibition as a platform for expanding bilateral cooperation, launching new projects, and exchanging expertise.
